Crispy Onion Bruschetta

  1. Split bread in half lengthwise.
  2. Pull out some of the bread from the center of each half, leaving a 1/2-inch shell.
  3. Beat cheeses and herbs with fork.
  4. Spread mixture along length of both bread halves.
  5. Place a thin layer of pizza sauce over the cheese mixture.
  6. Add the onions.
  7. Sprinkle with grated parmesan.
  8. Bake on a baking sheet at 400°F for 30 minutes, or until onion is tender, but the crust is dark.
  9. Sprinkle with dried parsley flakes, if desired.
  10. Cut crosswise into narrow strips and serve.
