Creamy Mushroom Chops and Rice

This is one of my comfort foods, and I unfortunately don't make it often enough. This can easily be doubled if you're feeding more than 2 people. Show more

Serves: 2

Ingredients

  • 2  pork loin chops (1 inch thick)
  • 1  tablespoon  cooking oil
  • 1 (10 3/4ounce) can  condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
  • 34 cup milk
  • 34 cup  uncooked  instant rice
  • 18 teaspoon onion powder
  • 18 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1  dash pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown pork chops in oil; set aside.
  3. In an ungreased 8-inch baking dish, combine soup, rice, milk, and seasonings; mix well.
  4. Top with pork chops.
  5. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until meat is tender.
  6. Uncover and bake 5 minutes more.
  7. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
