Creamy Chocolate Frosting II

I needed a frosting recipe that didn't call for milk. This is an easy recipe I found on allrecipes.com. The person who originally posted it said it is an old family recipe that is a classic. It makes enough to frost a one-layer 9 inch cake. YUM!

Ingredients

• 2  tablespoons butter or 2  tablespoons margarine
• 2  ounces  unsweetened chocolate, chopped
• 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2  cups confectioners' sugar
• 1⁄4 cup water

Directions

1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and chocolate over low heat.
2. Stir constantly until melted and well blended.
3. Add the vanilla and sugar.
4. Beat with an electric mixer.
5. Add water gradually as you beat until it is a spreadable consistency.
