Cream of Broccoli Soup

Ingredients
- 2 lbs frozen chopped broccoli
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground sage
- 1 pinch dried thyme
- 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 1⁄4 cup flour
- 2 quarts water or 2 quarts chicken broth
- 1 quart half-and-half
Directions
- place the 6 first ingredints in a 5 qt pan.
- add water or broth to just cover the broccoli.
- heat to boiling on high then turn to med heat.
- simmer briskly 45 min.or until liquid is reduced by half.
- melt butter and add flour to make a blond rue.
- add to broccoli stirring well.
- turn off heat.
- add 1 qt.half and half.
- stir and enjoy.
