Cream Cheese Cutout Cookies

Directions

  1. In large bowl beat butter and cream cheese until well combined. Add sugar, beat until fluffy. Add egg, vanilla and almond extract, beat until combined. In small bowl combine flour and baking powder. Add dry ingredients, mix until combined. Spilt dough in half, wrap each in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 1/2 hours.
  2. Preheat oven to 350. Roll dough out to 1/8 in thickness. Cut into desired shape and place on ungreased pan.
  3. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Remove to wire rack to cool completely. Decorate with almond frosting and candies.
  4. Almond Frosting: In small bowl beat 2 cups of sifted powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons softened butter, 2 tsp Almond extract until smooth. Add milk to desired consistency.
