Cranberry Pudding with Hot Butter Sauce

Ingredients
- 1⁄2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 2 cups halved cranberries
- 3 tablespoons brandy or 3 tablespoons rum or 3 tablespoons vanilla
Hot Butter Sauce
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup melted butter
- 1 cup whipping cream
Directions
- Cream butter,sugar and eggs.
- Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk to creamed mixture.
- Add nuts and cranberries.
- Bake cake in moderate oven (about 350) in a 9x13 inch pan for about 30 minutes or until it springs back when touched.
- Serve small pieces with hot butter sauce.
- Hot Butter Sauce: Combine ingredients and bring to a boil over moderate heat,stirring constantly.
- Let bubble one minute.
- Add cream (not whipped).
- Reheat but do not boil.
- Add flavoring.
