Cranberry Coffee Cake

Ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 cups cranberries
- 1 cup sugar, divided
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- 1 1⁄2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1⁄4 cup orange juice
- 1⁄4 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1⁄4-1⁄2 cup chopped pecans
Directions
- Arrange cranberries in a greased 8 inch baking pan; sprinkle with ½ cup sugar and the orange zest.
- Mix remaining ingredients until just moistened; drop by spoonfuls onto cranberries, spreading batter to the sides of the pan.
- Bake coffee cake at 400* until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 25-30 minutes.
- Immediately invert coffee cake onto serving plate. Serve warm.
