Crabapple Preserves

I have been looking for this recipe for years. My grandmother made them and I didn't get the recipe before she past away. I was looking in one of her cookbooks, and there it was!!! They taste like the ones she made. Show more

Yields: 7 pints

Ingredients

  •  crabapple (alot!!! There is no measurement)
  • 6  cups sugar
  • 3  cups water

Directions

  1. Wash and remove blossom end.
  2. Leave stems on.
  3. Do not peel!
  4. Make syrup with sugar and water.
  5. bring to boil.
  6. Boil for 5 minutes.
  7. Add apples to syrup.
  8. boil until apples are tender and transparent.
  9. Fill hot jars with fruit and syrup to 1/2 inch of top.
  10. put on canning lids.
  11. Process in hot water bath for 15 minutes.
