Cowboy Beans

I came up with this recipe when my children were toddlers and they refused to eat green beans, when they asked me what it was I said " they cowboy beans" all cowboys eat them because they make them big and strong. Now 25 years later they still on our menu. Show more

  1. Slice the green beans, peel the baby potatoes and the pickling onions.
  2. Dice the bacon and grate the cheese.
  3. In a pot fry bacon and garlic until cooked but not crispy add crushed garlic, lemon pepper, aroma seasoning, mixed herbs and salt fry for another two minutes.
  4. Add the green beans, baby potatoes, pickling onions and water.
  5. Cook until soft and all liquid has been absorbed add more water during cooking if necessary.
  6. When all the water has been absorbed and the beans, onions and potatoes are soft add the creme fraiche and cheese mix well heat through and serve.
