Corn-Onion Casserole

From the cookbook "The Dining Car" from The Service League of Denison, Texas. This is very good. I had to cook mine about 15-20 minutes longer and increased the temp. to 400. Show more

Serves: 8

Ingredients

  • 3  eggs, seperated
  • 2  teaspoons sugar
  • 1  teaspoon salt
  • 14 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (14 ounce) can  cream-style corn
  • 1 (2 7/8ounce) can  French fried onion rings, divded

Directions

  1. Beat eggs yolks until think and lemon colored.
  2. Add next 4 ingredients and blend well.
  3. Stir in 1 cup French fried onions.
  4. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour mixture into a 1-1/2 quart ungreased casserole dish.
  5. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until firm.
  6. Top with remaining onions and bake 5 minutes longer.
  7. Serve immediately.
