Copycat Jack Daniel's BBQ Sauce

Really like Jack Daniels BBQ Sauce? Or cannot find it in your megamart? Why not make your own. Well I really like JD BBQ sauce, but my megamart stopped selling it , so I found and improved this recipe. Hope you enjoy

Ingredients

• 1⁄4 cup yellow onion, Finely Chopped
• 2  tablespoons garlic, Minced
• 2  tablespoons butter
• 1  cup ketchup
• 1  tablespoon ground mustard
• 2  tablespoons brown sugar
• 1  tablespoon paprika
• 1  tablespoon chili powder
• 2  teaspoons thyme
• 1  teaspoon salt
• 1  teaspoon pepper
• 1⁄2 teaspoon cayenne
• 2  tablespoons molasses
• 1  tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
• 1  cup apple cider vinegar
• 1⁄4 cup water
• 1⁄4 cup  Jack Daniels Whiskey

Directions

1. Sweat the Onion/Garlic in medium sauce pan with butter.
2. Add the ketchup to the saucepan and reduce heat to a simmer on low heat.
3. Add the rest of the dry ingredients/spices and stir.
4. Add all the remaining ingredients/liquids to the saucepan.
5. Simmer and reduce the BBQ sauce for 30 minutes, or until the sauce is the desired thickness. The sauce will thicken some when cooled.
6. Let the sauce chill and you're finished! Store it in an airtight container for later or get to grilling with it right away.
