Cooked Buttercream Frosting

Yields: 2 1/2 cups
Ingredients
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6 ounces evaporated milk
Directions
- Combine all ingredients in saucepan, mix well.
- Let stand for 1 hour.
- Cook to soft boil stage or 234°F on candy thermometer, stirring occasionally.
- Beat until creamy and of spreading consistency.
- Frost cooled cake.
