Colonial Brown Bread

In colonial days they didn't have a whole lot of stuff to put into their baking. This one is like that. The first time I made it I didn't think that it would be very good, but found that it was sweet and great when toasted in the toaster and then spread it with lots of butter. Show more

Directions

  1. Mix the whole wheat flour, regular flour, brown sugar, and soda.
  2. Slowly add the buttermilk till blended.
  3. Put into a greased loaf pan.
  4. 350 degree oven for 1 hour.
