Classic Chocolate Fondue

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • Fondue

  • 1  cup  whipping cream
  • 2 23 cups  finely chopped  semisweet chocolate
  • 2  teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2  tablespoons  liqueur (dark rum, Amaretto, Frangelico, Grand Marnier or Dark Rum)
  • To Dip

  • 2  chopped pears
  • 2  cups bananas
  • 2  pints strawberries
  • 400  g  angel food cake

Directions

  1. Prep fruit and cake.
  2. In a sauce pan, slowly heat whipping cream until bubbles form around the edges.
  3. Remove pan from heat; whisk in chopped chocolate until mixture is smooth.
  4. Stir in vanilla and, if desired, add liqueur.
  5. Transfer mixture to a fondue pot and keep warm over low heat.
