Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
- 1⁄2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1⁄2 cup vegetable shortening
- 3⁄4 cup sugar
- 3⁄4 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 1⁄4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees; lightly grease cookie sheets.
- Cream butter, shortening, sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs, one at a time; beat well after each egg.
- Combine dry ingredients; stir into butter mixture.
- Carefully fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.
- Bake 8-10 minutes.
- Allow to cool on cookie sheets 10 minutes before removing to rack.
