Cinnamon Candied Apples

Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup red-hot candies
- 6 apples, peeled, cored and halved (tart)
- of fresh mint
- whipped cream (optional)
Directions
- Bring water, sugar and candies to boil over medium heat in a large saucepan. Stir constantly until dissolved.
- Reduce heat and carefully add the apples. Cook (uncovered) until apples are tender, about 8 minutes.
- Transfer apples to a serving dish and pour syrup on apples.
- Serve either warm or chilled. Garnish with mint or whipped cream if you like.
