Cinnamon Applescotch Cookies

From a recipe leaflet that was displayed by the Chipits baking morsels in our local grocery store.I've made them many times since...they are SO good.

Ingredients

• 1⁄3 cup shortening
• 1⁄2 cup sugar
• 1  egg
• 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla
• 1⁄3 cup applesauce
• 1 1⁄4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1⁄4 teaspoon baking soda
• 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
• 1  cup  butterscotch chips

Directions

1. Cream shortening with sugar.
2. Beat in egg and vanilla;Stir in applesauce.
3. Combine flour,cinnamon,soda and salt.
4. Stir into creamed mixture;mix in butterscotch chips.
5. Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheets.
6. Bake in pre-heated 350°F oven 12- 15 minutes.
