Chocolate Tea Bread

Ingredients
- 1⁄2 cup applesauce
- 1⁄2 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1⁄3 cup water
- 1 1⁄4 cups sugar
- 1 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1⁄3 cup baking cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1⁄3 cup walnuts
GLAZE
- 1⁄2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 -2 tablespoon milk
- 1⁄4 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 pinch salt
Directions
- In a bowl, combine applesauce, butter, eggs, water and sugar.
- Beat on low speed for 30 seconds.
- Combine dry ingredients.
- Add to applesauce mixture.
- Beat on low for 30 seconds.
- Increase speed to high and beat for 2 1/2 minutes.
- Scrape bowl often.
- Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts.
- Pour into greased 9X5X3 loaf pan.
- Bake at 350 for 60-70 minutes or til a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Combine glaze ingredients.
- Mix until smooth.
- Drizzle over cooled bread.
