Chocolate Syrup Brownies

These brownies have a very different taste than boxed. They're very good though, and easy to make. I didn't time myself so I'm over guessing on the prep time. And how many servings you get depends on how large you like to cut your brownies. Show more

Ingredients

  • Bar ingredients

  • 1  cup sugar
  • 12 cup  softened butter
  • 1  tablespoon vanilla
  • 3  eggs
  • 16  ounces  chocolate syrup
  • 1 14 cups flour
  • Frosting

  • 14 cup butter
  • 14 cup  unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 12 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 12 tablespoons milk (may need to add more)
  • 12 teaspoon vanilla
  •  nuts (optional)

Directions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350.
  2. Grease a 13x9 pan.
  3. For the bars: Beat together sugar and softened butter until creamy.
  4. Add vanilla, eggs and chocolate syrup.
  5. Blend well.
  6. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
  7. Stir into chocolate mixture and mix well.
  8. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  9. Cool.
  10. For the frosting: Melt butter in a saucepan.
  11. Blend in cocoa and heat just until mixture comes to a boil, stirring constantly.
  12. Cool.
  13. Blend in powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  14. You may need to add additional milk if frosting is too dry.
  15. Stir in nuts, if you are using them.
  16. Spread carefully over brownies.
  17. Let sit for a bit to firm up frosting.
  18. Enjoy!
