Chocolate Drops

These were originally based off of a chocolate chip cookie recipe. The recipe was changed so much out of necessity, it became my own. These cookies are deeply dark and decadent. Parents and big brothers/sisters, this is a good way to bribe your kids/little siblings... >:) The flavor is rather unique, with brown sugar, vanilla, and cocoa powder. The recipe was altered because I had no white sugar or chocolate chips. Or nuts, come to think of it. Needless to say, the result was amaaaaazing. Enjoy! Show more

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F Cream butter and brown sugar until very light and fluffy. Then add vanilla and eggs, then mix well.
  2. Add cocoa powder and carefully mix well.
  3. Add flour all at once, then the baking soda and salt. Mix well. (Dough will be stiff!).
  4. Drop by the tablespoonful onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. pat down slightly to form little patties.
  5. Dip one side of the patties into granulated sugar and swoosh around a little. The little patties will be very covered in sugar. Arrange them with a little space between them-they will expand a bit.
  6. Bake at 375 F for 12-14 minutes. (Every oven is different!) Let cool for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack or plate.
  7. Resist the urge to eat a lot at a time! Enjoy!
