Chocolate Chip Marble Cookies

Ingredients
- 2 cups shortening
- 1⁄4 cup water
- 1 1⁄2 cups white sugar
- 1 1⁄2 cups brown sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 4 3⁄4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3⁄4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the first four ingredients until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then add in vanilla.
- Combine dry ingredients in a seperate bowl, then stir into the creamed mixture.
- Fold the chocolate chips into the batter.
- Then lastly, gently fold in the cocoa powder to create a marbled effect.
- Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
