Chilli Cakes

Serves: 4
Ingredients
- 250 g split peas
- 3 red chilies
- 2 tablespoons coriander leaves, chopped
- 2 tablespoons spring onions, finely chopped
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cumin seed
- salt, to taste
- oil, for frying
Directions
- Rinse split peas and soak in cold water overnight.
- Drain thoroughly, and place in a blender. Blend to a still lumpy consistency.
- Add to a bowl with all other ingredients and mix well. Add a little water if needed.
- Heat oil in pan.
- Shape mixture to small balls, and fry until golden brown.
- Drain on absorbant paper and serve with bread, or alone.
