Chili Con Carne

Yields: 4 cups
Ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 lbs hamburger
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 (28 ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes, chopped not drained
- 1 (28 ounce) can kidney beans, drained
- 1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 4 -6 tablespoons chili powder
- salt
- pepper
Directions
- Cook and drain hamburger in a large skillet.
- Saute onion, bellpepper, garlic and chili powder for 5 minutes.
- Add tomatoes and juice along with tomato sauce, salt and pepper.
- Simmer 15 minutes until all vegetables are tender.
- Remove from heat and top with sour cream or cheddar cheese.
