Chili

This is only for my menu planning purposes. Its VERY easy and is basically the recipe on the back of the bean package! I also like to make this with a package of Hurst's Hambeens Chili 15 Bean Soup instead of Pinto beans and chili seasoning. Show more

Yields: 2 1/2 quarts

Directions

  1. Soak beans overnight.
  2. After soaking, drain water and add 2 qts water.
  3. Bring beans to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 2 hours.
  4. In a skillet, saute onion & garlic.
  5. Add tomatoes and contents of flavor packet. Simmer 5 minutes.
  6. Add mixture to bean pot. Simmer uncovered for an hour or until beans are tender.
