This is my Mom's recipe. It is Great. I'm from Southern Indiana. We put pasta in our chilie. Some call it chilie soup. I'm not sure of how many servings. It depends on what size bowl you want. You can freeze this also. Show more

Yields: 10 bowls

Ingredients

  • 1 12 lbs  ground chuck
  • 1  large onion, chopped
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans  spicy chili beans
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 4 (15 ounce) cans water
  • 1  package  chili sauce mix (The size of a powered gravy mix)
  • 13 package  Bloomers chile spice (Not sure if it is available worldwide. Just add your favorite)
  • 2  teaspoons chili powder
  • 2  teaspoons sugar
  •  salt & pepper
  •  red pepper flakes
  • 1 (8 ounce) package spaghetti

Directions

  1. Brown ground chuck, onion, salt& pepper.
  2. Drain fat.
  3. In a large pot place chile beans, water, tomatoe sauce, more salt& pepper, chile powder, sugar, The chile spice pkgs, redpepper flakes.
  4. Stir.
  5. Start to boil.
  6. Add ground chuck.
  7. Let simmer 1hr.
  8. to 1 1/2hrs.
  9. Cook spaghetti 3/4 box.
  10. Place in cold water.
  11. Add to chile after the cook time to your liking.
  12. I think Chile is always best the second day.
