Chicken Won Tons With Hoisin-Peanut Dipping Sauce

You can stir up the chicken mixture and fill the wonton wrappers while the frying oil heats. The dipping sauce that follows is great with these crispy won tons, but if you'd prefer, use one of the many bottled Asian sauces on the market. Show more

  1. Won Tons:
  2. Pour peanut oil to a depth of 3 inches into a large Dutch oven; heat to 375 F (about 25 minutes).
  3. While oil heats, combine chicken and next 6 ingredients in a medium bowl. Spoon 1 heaping teaspoonful of meat mixture in center of each won ton wrapper, moisten edges with water.
  4. Carefully bring 2 opposite points of wrapper to center over filling; pinch points gently to seal. Bring remaining opposite points to center, and pinch gently to seal.
  5. Fry won tons, in batches, 1 1/2 minutes or until golden, turning once. Drain well on paper towels. Serve with Hoisin-Peanut Dipping Sauce.
  6. Hoisin-Peanut Dipping Sauce:
  7. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute. Serve with Chicken Won Tons or other Asian dippers.
