Chicken Wings in Sauce a La Chine

Yields: 8 wings
Ingredients
- 8 chicken wings
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 3⁄4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 star anise
- 2 tablespoons sherry wine
Directions
- Mix water, soy sauce, sugar, star anise and sherry in a pot; bring to boil.
- Add chicken wings; bring to boil again.
- Cover and simmer 15 minutes.
- Remove wings from sauce.
- Serve cold.
- Note: I cut the wings in 3 segments and arrange on a platter garnished with chopped green onions or cilantro.
