Chewy Chocolate Bar

Ingredients
- 1⁄2 cup butter
- 1⁄4 cup peanut butter
- 2⁄3 cup dark brown sugar
- 3⁄8 cup light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 2⁄3 cups quick-cooking oats
- 1⁄2 cup peanuts, dry roasted
- 1⁄2 cup Rice Krispies
Topping
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1⁄2 cup peanut butter
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 deg.
- Spray a 9 X 9 inch baking dish.
- In a 2 quart saucepan, melt butter. Add the peanut butter, brown sugar, corn syrup. Combine over med. heat until just starting to simmer. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla.
- Add oats, peanuts and Rice Krispies.
- Pour into prepared pan and pat evenly with spatula.
- Bake in the oven for 16 minutes. Turn oven off and let sit in the oven for 3 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cool.
- While that is cooling (in same saucepan), melt chocolate chips and peanut butter. Once smooth and combined, spread over the top of the cooled crust.
- Let cool completely or refrigerated before cutting into 16 servings.
