Cherry and Raisin Sauce

Ingredients
- 2 1⁄2 cups tart red pitted cherries (reserve cherry juice)
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1⁄2 teaspoon clove
- 1⁄4 cup seeded raisins
- sherry wine
- red food coloring (optional)
Directions
- Use medium heat.
- In a heavy duty large sauce pan, mix sugar, cornstarch, and cloves and gradually stir in cherry liquid.
- Cook stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
- Thin with sherry.
- Add food coloring if desired.
- Serve hot over ham slices.
