Cheese Tea Biscuits

Very addictive and wonderful served warm. Cheese can be omitted for traditional tea biscuits!

  1. Preheat oven to 450.
  2. Sift and measure flour.
  3. Add baking power and salt.
  4. Stir in grated cheese (optional).
  5. Cut up shortening and add.
  6. Pour in milk.
  7. Mix until sticky.
  8. Put on lightly floured surface and kneed 8-10 times.
  9. Roll out or pat until half an inch thick.
  10. Cut with floured glass.
  11. Bake on ungreased baking sheet for 12-15 minutes or light golden brown.
