Cheese Scones With Gomashio

Yields: 4 scones
Ingredients
- 1 1⁄4 cups whole grain flour
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder
- 30 g butter
- 2 -4 tablespoons gomashio (use more if you really want to taste the sesame in the scones)
- 1⁄4-1⁄2 cup milk
- grated cheese, for sprinkling
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 220°C/425°F.
- In a bowl combine flour, gomashio and baking powder. Rub in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add liquid little by little until a soft, but not sticky dough forms.
- Pat out on a lightly floured surface and cut out scones of desired size ( I use a regular glass for cutting).
- Place on a papaer-lined baking sheet, top with grated cheese and bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown and baked through.
