Cheese Lovers' Super Rich Macaroni & Cheese

Ingredients
- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 8 ounces shredded mild cheddar cheese
- 8 ounces shredded extra-sharp cheddar cheese
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 1⁄2 cups milk
- 1⁄4 cup self rising flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1 egg
Directions
- Boil macaroni for 10-12 minutes. Drain until cool.
- Beat egg and mix with macaroni in large mixing bowl. Set aside.
- Melt butter in large sauce pan over medium heat.
- Add flour, salt, and pepper and stir until througly mixed.
- Add milk and stir frequently over medium heat until thickened and milk starts to foam.
- Remove from heat and stir in both cheeses until melted, reserving 1/2 cup of each to sprinkle on top.
- Add cheese sauce to bowl with macaroni and stir until well mixed.
- Pour mixture into a greased 3 quart casserole dish.
- Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 30 mintues or until cheese topping is golden brown and slightly bubbling.
