Cheese and Apple Turnovers

Ingredients

  • 1 (15 ounce) package  refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 12 cup  apple pie filling
  • 34 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4  slices cheddar cheese
  • 1  egg white, beaten (save some egg white for the end)
  • 2  teaspoons sugar
  • 12 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

  1. Set oven to 400°F degrees.
  2. Unroll dough and separate into 6 triangles.
  3. Place 1/2 slice cheese in center of each triangle.
  4. Combine pie filling and cinnamon; spoon mixture over cheese.
  5. Top them with 1/2 slices of cheese.
  6. Brush edges of dough with egg white.
  7. Fold each triangle of dough over filling making large triangles, stretching dough if you have to; press edges together.
  8. Put on greased baking sheet.
  9. Cut several small slits on top to vent; brush egg white over tops.
  10. Combine sugar and remaining cinnamon sprinkle mixture over turnovers.
  11. Bake at 400°F degrees for 18 minutes or until golden brown.
