Cedar Planked Salmon With Citrus BBQ Sauce

As salmon is so readily available (and most of the time I can get it fresh), this is a nice way to treat this lovely fish. The BBQ sauce makes alot, so either cut the recipe in half... use on ribs or chicken...or freeze it!! Show more

Directions

  1. Combine the red onion, garlic, green onion, BBQ sauce, marmalade, dill, orange juice and black pepper. This can be prepared ahead of time and set aside.
  2. Presoak a cedar plank by putting it in the sink with a heavy object sitting on top of it for 1/2 a day.
  3. Preheat the grill. Remove the plank from the water.
  4. Sit the plank on the grill until it smokes a bit, then carefully place the salmon on the plank. Cook the salmon until done -- usually until when the milky white juices release, about 20 - 30minutes.
  5. Discard the plank after using.
