Caramel Rum Fruit Dip

  • 12 cup butter
  • 14  ounces  caramels, unwrapped
  • 14 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1  tablespoon milk
  • 1  tablespoon rum

Directions

  1. in 2 qt saucepan melt butter and caramels over low heat, stirring occasionally until caramels are melted.
  2. stir in pecans, milk and rum.
  3. stir vigorously to incorporate butter.
  4. keep warm; to use as a dip for slices of apples, pears and bananas or serve over ice cream.
  5. Tip:.
  6. 1 teaspoon rum extract can be substituted for 1 tablespoon rum.
