Caramel in the Microwave

Yields: 1 cup
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons corn syrup
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1⁄8 teaspoon lemon juice
Directions
- Mix all ingredients in 2 cup microwave-safe measuring cup or glass bowl.
- Microwave at full power until mixture is just beginning to brown (this can be from 5 to 8 minutes depending on your microwave).
- Remove from microwave and let it sit on a dry surface for 5 minutes or until it darkens to a rich honey brown.
- To make caramel sauce, add 1/2 cup of hot heavy cream a few Tablespoons at a time, followed by 1 Tablespoon of butter.
