  1. In large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar.beat in egg yolks and vanilla --
  2. combine dry ingredients in a seperate bowl.
  3. gradually add to creamed mixture.
  4. shape into 2 10" rolls.
  5. Wrap each roll in plastic wrap.refrigerate 2 hours.
  6. unwrap and cut into 1/4" slices.
  7. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  8. bake at 350* for 11-13 minutes, or golden brown.
  9. remove to rack to cool.
  10. to prepare FILLING:.
  11. heat butter in saucepan over medium heat until golden brown.
  12. remove from heat and add powdered sugar, vanilla and enough cream to be of spreading consistency.
  13. spread on bottoms of each cookie and top with another cookie.
