Captain's Easy Berry Crisp

Ingredients
- 2 (12 ounce) bags frozen mixed berries
- 1⁄4 cup sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon spiced rum (Captain Morgan)
- 3⁄4 cup rolled oats
- 2⁄3 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 cup butter, chilled (one stick)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Combine berries, sugar, 1/4 cup of flour and spiced rum in a bowl - toss until well blended.
- Transfer berry mixture to a greased 9 inch square baking dish.
- Combine remaining 3/4 cup flour, brown sugar, oats, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt in a medium bowl.
- Add butter, rubbing in with fingers until topping holds together in small moist clumps.
- Sprinkle topping evenly over berry mixture in baking dish.
- Bake until berry mixture bubbles thickly and topping is golden brown (about 1 hour).
- Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream topping.
