Canadian Butterscotch pie

A creamy pie that is a French tradition in northern Maine...Delicious!!

• Yields: 1 pie

Ingredients

• 3⁄4 cup light brown sugar
• 1⁄3 cup flour
• 1  teaspoon salt
• 2  cups milk
• 3  egg yolks, beaten
• 1  teaspoon vanilla
• 3  tablespoons butter

Directions

1. Mix in pan the first 3 ingredients and add the 2 cups milk and the 3 egg yolks, beaten/ Cook on medium heat until boiling.
2. Remove from heat and add vanilla and butter-- pour into pre-baked crust.
3. Chill.
