Cajun Seasoned Stuffed Cheeseburger

I was getting tired of the same old type of cheeseburger, and believe it or not nothing in the "ZAAR" database was striking my fancy. So this is what I came up with.The amounts are just " a little of this and a little of that" so if you want to change anything please go right ahead. :) You might have to tear off the corners of the cheese to fit the burger, if you do just place the remaining cheese on top of the burger after cooking.Posted to "ZAAR" on December 7th, 2008 Show more

Serves: 1

Yields: 1 hamburger

Ingredients

  • 2  slices bacon
  • 6  ounces ground beef
  • 12 teaspoon  cajun seasoning, divided
  • 1  slice cheese, any type will do (I used American )
  • 1  teaspoon  finely chopped sweet onion

Directions

  1. Fry bacon until slightly crisp, set aside, DO NOT DISCARD 1 Tablespoon of bacon drippings.
  2. While bacon is frying, divide beef into two equal 3 ounce portions.
  3. Flatten one portion of meat into a thin patty, and place on a small plate.
  4. Sprinkle meat with 1/4 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning,and top with cheese.
  5. Top cheese with the chopped onion.
  6. Take remaining meat and make a patty the same size as the first.
  7. Place on top of cheese and make sides are pinched together, so there will be no leakage.
  8. Sprinkle remaining Cajun seasoning over the top, and fry in remaining bacon drippings.
  9. Dress with your favorite hamburger toppings and enjoy :).
