Caffè Di Alpi (Alpine Coffee)

Bartender Steve Peters dreamed up Caffè Di Alpi, which is Italian for Alpine Coffee, as a deliciously warming après-ski drink ;) Amaro is an after-dinner digestif and is usually made from herbs, which is usually bitter and sweet. Ingredients

  • COFFEE

  • 1  teaspoon honey
  • 3  ounces  hot brewed coffee (hot freshly brewed Cuban coffee, yum!)
  • 1 12 ounces Bourbon
  • 1  pinch  of freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1  large  dollop of alps  whipped cream
  • ALPS WHIPPED CREAM

  • 4  ounces heavy cream
  • 34 ounce  Averna Amaro (bittersweet Italian liqueur) or 34 ounce  lucano  liqueur (bittersweet Italian liqueur) or 34 ounce  montenegro  liqueur (bittersweet Italian liqueur)

Directions

  1. COFFEE:.
  2. Put the honey in a warmed mug, add the hot coffee and the bourbon and stir.
  3. Top with Alps Whipped Cream and garnish with fresh grated nutmeg.
  4. ALPS WHIPPED CREAM:.
  5. In a small bowl beat the heavy cream until thickened, add amaro & beat until firm.
