Cabbage Soup from Sideny's Just South

Serves: 4-6
Ingredients
- 1 cabbage, large, chopped
- 2 onions, chopped
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 4 cups water
- 2 cups tomatoes
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon caraway seed
Directions
- Melt butter in large dutch oven. Saute cabbage and onions , chopped.
- 2 Sprinkle in flour and mix.
- 3 . Gradually add the water, then the rest of the ingredients.
- 4 . cook for 30 minutes or longer until cabbage is cooked as you like it.
- Serve hot with buttered slices of toasted bread.
