Butterscotch Oatmeal Cookies

Another recipe from what I call my from-here-and-there-and-everywhere collection. I Don't know where I got it....I know we liked them a lot because it has a blue star sticker (my system of remembering which of my tons of recipes I have made) on it and the blue stars were pretty - so I would have used them on the recipes that we really liked! :)

Ingredients

• 2  cups brown sugar
• 1⁄2 cup butter
• 1⁄2 cup shortening
• 1  teaspoon vanilla
• 2  eggs
• 2 1⁄4 cups flour
• 2  cups oats
• 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
• 1⁄2 cup granulated sugar or 1⁄2 cup powdered sugar

Directions

1. Mix brown sugar, butter, shortening, vanilla and eggs.
2. Stir in remaining ingredients except sugar.
3. Shape dough into 1" balls; roll in sugar.
4. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes on greased cookie sheets.
