Butterscotch Brownies

Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1⁄2 cup walnuts, chopped
- powdered sugar, for topping
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan, set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add brown sugar, and stir 1-2 minutes, or until a thick peanut butter like consistancy.
- Remove from heat, and stir in the beaten egg, and vanilla, followed by the flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Once combined, stir in the nuts.
- Spread the batter into prepared pan and bake until the edges begin to brown.and a toothpick inserted comes out clean, about 25-30 minutes.
- Cut into 2 x 2 inch squares while warm and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
