Buttermilk Candy Glaze

good on cake...an old recipe from my grandmother

• Ready In: 25 mins
• Yields: 2 cups

Ingredients

• 1⁄4 cup butter, softened
• 1  cup granulated sugar
• 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1⁄2 cup buttermilk
• 1  teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1  tablespoon light corn syrup

Directions

1. Combine all ingredients in saucepan, mix well.
2. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
3. Cook to 236* on candy thermometer.
4. Do not stir.
5. Pour over cake.
