Butter Rum Glazed Applesauce Cake

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir for 2 to 2 1/2 minutes until butter begins to brown. Immediately remove from heat and stir in sugar, applesauce, apple and vanilla. Set aside.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients in a large bowl and stir in applesauce mixture. Pour into a greased 8x8 baking dish.
  3. Bake at 350ºfor 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  4. Pour warm rum glaze over hot cake. Let cake cool for 30 minutes and serve warm.
