  1. In a large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar; add egg and mix until well blended.
  2. Slowly add flour and salt and mix well.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  5. Roll 1-inch pieces of dough into balls and place 2-inches apart on cookie sheets.
  6. Flatten balls with the bottom of a glass dipped in flour.
  7. Press a pecan into top of dough.
  8. Bake 10 to 12 minutes until lightly colored.
