Brownie-Walnut Pie

Ingredients

  • 1  pie crust (refrigerated works fine)
  • 12 cup butter
  • 3  ounces  unsweetened chocolate, cut up
  • 3  eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 12 cups sugar
  • 12 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1  teaspoon vanilla
  • 1  cup  chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Transfer pie to pie plate, trim crust to 1/2 inch beyond the pie plate. Fold under extra pastry, crimp edges, set aside.
  3. For filling: in heavy saucepan melt butter and chocolate over low heat, stirring frequently. Cool for 20 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl combine eggs, sugar, flour, and vanilla. Stir in chocolate mixture and nuts. Pour into pastry crust.
  5. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean. Transfer to wire rack and cool for 1 hour before cutting.
