Broke Guy's Spicy Ribs

Very simple recipe using a Crock Pot. The char from the broiler makes the ribs extra special but is not necessary if you don't have an oven. Definitely finish up the sauce as it is outstanding! Show more

Directions

  1. Combine the onion, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, salt, Worcestershire, chili powder and oregano in a 6-quart crock pot. Stir in the ribs. Cook on low heat for 6 hours, or on high for 3 1/2 hours.
  2. Using tongs, remove the ribs from the crock pot and arrange on a baking sheet. Pour the juices from the crock pot into a bowl and place in the freezer for 10 minutes. Remove and discard the fat.
  3. Pour the remaining juices into a saucepan. Boil over high heat until reduced by half (about 15 minutes). Heat the broiler and when it is ready, broil the ribs about 6 inches from the heat until browned. Serve with the sauce.
