Bread Pudding

Ingredients
- 8 cups white bread
- 2 1⁄4 cups milk
- 2 3⁄4 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1⁄4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Directions
- Cube bread and place in a greased 13in x 9in x 2in baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk,1-3/4 cup cream, 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup melted butter, vanilla and cinnamon. Pour evenly over bread.
- Bake uncovered at 350* for 40-45 minutes or until knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Let stand for 5 minutes before cutting.
- Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, bring 1 cup sugar, water, and lemon juice to a boil.
- Reduce heat to medium; cook until sugar is dissolved and amber color.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons butter until melted.
- Add 1 cup cream.
- Remove from the heat. Serve with bread pudding.
